Each week, read or listen to the Book of Colossians, talk about the questions below, and draw the picture you’re asked to make. You can color your picture too! Make sure all your pages are finished—everything will be turned in together on the Thursday after Labor Day.

 

Colossians 1 ~ Jesus Is the Good News! 

 

Big Idea: Jesus is the best news ever, and He holds everything together!

 

Discussion Questions:

  • What is the “good news” about Jesus?
  • What are some things Jesus made that show how powerful and loving He is?

 

Drawing Prompt:

  • Draw a picture of Jesus as King over everything - the earth, the sky, animals, and people.

 

 

Colossians 1 ~ we are made new in Jesus! 

 

Big Idea: Jesus forgives us and is our friend.

 

Discussion Questions:

  • What does it mean to be a good friend?
  • How does it feel to know that Jesus wants to be your friend?

  • Draw a picture to show a way to be a good friend.

 

 

Colossians 2 ~ Grow strong in Jesus! 

 

Big Idea: Keep learning and growing strong in faith.

 

Discussion Questions:

  • What are some ways we can grow strong in Jesus every day?

Colossians 3 ~ Set your heart on Heaven! 

 

Big Idea: Think about God's goodness.

 

Discussion Questions:

  • What do you think makes heaven such a special place?

  • Draw a picture to show what you think heaven will look like with Jesus - a place full of peace, love, and joy.

 

 

Colossians 3 ~ Put on your new self! 

 

Big Idea: Be more like Jesus - kind, gentle, patient, and full of love.

 

Discussion Questions:

  • What does it mean to be kind, gentle, patient, and full of love?

 

Drawing Prompt:

  • Draw a picture to show yourself showing kindness, patience, or love to others.

 

 

Colossians 3 ~ Be thankful! 

 

Big Idea: Let peace rule your heart and always be thankful.

 

Discussion Questions:

  • What are some things you're thankful for today, and how can you show that thankfulness to God?
