God initiated Cornerstone Christian Academy (CCA) in February 2001 through members of The First Baptist Church of Tillar, AR. He provided CCA with fully equipped classrooms, an office, and auditorium and cafeteria within a month after He initiated the academy.
By May of 2001, CCA had a united, dedicated and hardworking board, an administrator and teachers which served 23 students from kindergarten through eleventh grade. With four teachers and 23 students in August 2001, CCA began its first school year with a promising future.
In the 2002-03 school year, CCA grew beginning our second school year with approximately 75 students, 12 teachers, and administrator and a secretary. CCA established the athletic department and became members of the Arkansas/Louisiana/ Christian Athletic League (ALCAL). We had our first basketball and cheerleading squad. In elementary, we established our first soccer team. We also established our Praise Band! We also had our first graduation class of three! Two of our graduates received full paid scholarships to college.
In the 2003-04 school year, CCA began the school year with approximately 90 students, 13 teachers, a secretary and administrator. We received our accreditation through the National Association of Private Schools (NAPS) and became members of the Association of Christian School International (ACSI). We participated in our first Homecoming festivities. We also establish a lunch program with a fully equipped cafeteria and two nutritionists who prepared our meals. Through prayer and hard work, God continued to bless our academy and extracurricular activities.
In the 2004-05 school year, CCA began the school year with approximately 130 students, 19 teachers, a secretary, athletic director, and administrator. God continued to send families and faculty who were dedicated, hardworking, and had a passion for the Lord!
In the 2005-06 school year, CCA began the school year with approximately 141 students, 19 teachers, a secretary, athletic director/high school principal and an administrator.
In the 2007-08 school year, CCA began the school year with approximately 170 students, 22 teachers, a secretary, athletic director/high school principal and an administrator.
On August 18, 2008, CCA began the school year with approximately 170 students, 23 teachers, a secretary, a financial officer, athletic director/high school principal and an elementary principal. Throughout the first seven years, the greatest testimony is to know that God has used this academy to save souls!! With our continued prayer and focus on Jesus Christ the Lord has and will continue to bless "HIS" educational establishment.
