Objective:

Students will read the book of Colossians and demonstrate understanding through structured writing tasks using the six core question types to guide comprehension and biblical application. 

-Read together as a family and share with each other what the Lord spoke to each of you through His word!

 

 


Part 1: Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How Questions

Answer the following questions using COMPLETE SENTENCES. Use evidence from the book of Colossians to support your answers.

 

  1. Who wrote the book of Colossians? Who was it written to?

  2. What are the main themes or messages in Colossians?

  3. When was this letter written, and what was happening in the early church at the time?

  4. Where was Paul when he wrote this letter? Why is that important?

  5. Why did Paul write to the Colossians? What problems or encouragements was he addressing?

  6. How should Christians live differently because of what they read in Colossians?


Part 2: Structured Writing Paragraph

Choose one of the questions from Part 1 (preferably What, Why, or How) and write a structured paragraph based on your answer.

 

Paragraph Outline:

 

  • Topic Sentence: Restate the question as a main idea.

  • Detail #1: Support from the book of Colossians.

  • Detail #2: More explanation or Scripture reference.

  • Detail #3: Personal application.

  • Conclusion: Restate or summarize your main idea in a new way.
